The Lowside Hat is a unique 5-panel cotton cap that combines classic form with authentic Alpinestars racing heritage. Designed to symbolically honor the recovery and analysis of MotoGP riders' racing suits after accidents, the cap represents a tangible trace of track history.
Any suit damaged during competition is sent to the Alpinestars R&D center in Asolo, where it is thoroughly examined. Depending on its condition, it is either repaired or archived. Leather fragments are collected from these used suits, which are given new life in projects like the Lowside Hat.
The most distinctive feature of the cap is the large Astar logo, cut from authentic MotoGP leather. Each logo is hand-stitched on the left side of the cap, making each one unique and unrepeatable – bearing the true marks of racing, crashes, and the history of world-class athletes.
